”Unison” refers to two or more voices or instruments playing the same note or melody at the same pitch. The word comes from the Latin ”unisonus,” meaning ”one sound” (”uni” for ”one” and ”sonus” for ”sound”). It’s often used to create a powerful, cohesive sound by blending multiple parts together perfectly.
