Design Is Not Just Decoration, It’s Infrastructure
In late spring this year, I was selected to join a groundbreaking project as a designer. A project one that is set to transform how people access and discover health care services in Finland.
We are building a domestic platform that serves as a meeting place for the health, social, and welfare sectors. Its mission is to bring services closer to the customer in a simple and accessible way. At the same time, it helps service providers and companies market their offerings more effectively, reach new customers, and develop innovative ways of working. The platform is designed to create a genuine ecosystem that supports growth and competitiveness for operators of all sizes.
As a UI/UX designer in the development team, I’ve had the opportunity not only to focus on usability and user experience but also to contribute to strategic design thinking. Since the service is entirely new and yet to be launched, I've been able to apply my business knowledge and design expertise to create a solution that serves both end-users and service providers.
For me, this project has been especially meaningful. It’s been inspiring to work with such talented and forward-thinking professionals. Over the past three months and counting, I’ve been able to actively use my innovation skills in concept development and prototyping. I feel truly grateful to be part of something that has the potential to make a real difference in people’s lives.
P.S. The illustration features my drawing of a Swedish maypole. It was inspired by our Midsummer celebration in the Stockholm archipelago. 🌞🇸🇪
