Unseen Faces at Kalasatama
Last week, I set up my "Unseen Faces" art exhibition at the Kalasatama Vapaakaupunki Gallery in the Redi mall in Helsinki. It was great to have my parents help with the setup. My dad and I are so used to hanging paintings that it took us hardly any time at all but it turned out really nice!
The exhibition will be up until the 5th of May, so if you’re in the area, don’t miss it. There are also two other exhibitions happening at the same time, so be sure to check those out as well.
My "Unseen Faces" painting series began last fall, when I unexpectedly found myself painting again after many years. The positive response has been overwhelming, and it has really had a huge impact on me. Thank you all so much for your support!
One thing I’ve noticed in my work is that, as a designer, many of the elements in my paintings have a graphic feel to them. I think this comes naturally from my background in visual design. I love how my art allows me to explore and blend these design principles in a more expressive, creative way, which in turn supports and enriches my work as a designer. Looking ahead, these paintings will be on display in Tampere and back in Helsinki this summer. I’ll keep you updated on the details!
